The Big Turkey Award for 2010-Ozzy

Photobucket

To be honest 2010 has been a very good year for hard rock and metal. Not just for a large amount of solid albums, but also because there have been very few bad releases. However one that really stunk it up was Ozzy's latest "Scream". Okay, it wasn't as bad as "Black Rain" and it's really one in a line of stinkers. Still the fact that Ozzy is still releasing garbage and making money from it bothers me to no end. He was great on the first six Sabbath albums and his solo career produced mostly good albums from about 1980 until 1991. In the last fifteen years he has become more a product than a performer. He is a shell of what he once was and he gets propped up and they squeeze some sounds out of him and produce it to death because we know he can hardly talk anymore let alone sing. In a way it's to see him as the joke that he has become, but he definitely deserves this award for this year.

I agree. The last album I could tolerate from him was "Ozzmosis", and hell, IT was WEAK.

I heard the title track from this one, and didn't bother searching out any other songs.

Randy Rhoads would roll over in his grave if he heard this shit !

I totally agree with you here, everything solo he was good up to and including No More Tears, after that he became one big Stink Bomb making odd noises for people to listen too. I sure wish Randy was still alive to keep Ozzy on the right track and to make some of the best guitar riffs ever, maybe even do some reunion shows with Quiet Riot, boy would that have been cool.

I was thinking abuot this on the way home tonight and predicted you'd pick Ozzy. Can't say I'm going to disagree with it, either.

Well, maybe it's not the popular opinion, but I think Ozzy can do no wrong.

I like the album "Scream" a lot.

I think it is Metallica (not Ozzy Osbourne) that is the act which has defiled their own legacy in the last fifteen years with releases that are consistently worse than the previous one since "Load".
